Katrina's Aftermath : The situation in the Gulf Coast is dire. Everyone wants to help, but at present there are too many volunteers flooding the area. Despite good intentions, this is creating a larger problem where volunteers are becoming trapped, sick or injured, adding to the damage toll and tying up resources which need to be focused on storm survivors.

We all realize that disaster relief costs a lot of money, but many people only consider the price of goods and services rendered during such an excercise. Take a moment to think about how much gasoline it takes to mobilize people and resources into the disaster areas in the Gulf Coast states, and how much more it will take to distribute them.

We feel that at this point, the best thing anyone can do is donate to the American Red Cross.

For those seeking Family Members, please visit the Yahoo!'s Katrina Resources page --- it will allow you to search most of the Missing/Safe lists out there from a single location.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the survivors, EMS workers, volunteers and the friends and families of both the lucky and not-so-lucky during this tragedy.
